Why Rudolph have such a red nose??

This song tells the tale of Santa Claus's ninth and lead reindeer, who possesses an unusually red-colored nose that gives off its own light, powerful enough to illuminate the team's path through inclement weather.

The Name Of The Reindeers are Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner/Donder, Blitzen, and Rudolph The anonymously-published poem "A Visit from St. Nicholas" (also known as "The Night Before Christmas" or "Twas the Night Before Christmas") is largely credited for the contemporary Christmas lore, including the eight flying reindeer and their names.

I am confused!!

I think, poor Rudy has his red nose, because...

they are always flying in the wintertime and it is awful cold, shit pole position!!

Why Rudolph always wear a scarf, maybe better would be a nose warmer??
